Third Man on The Mountain (1959)

Second to last of the 1950s Disney Films and man what a blockbuster hit this was. James McArthur sure makes my heart proud in this heart-warmth story. I believe everyone is here on earth for a reason and his was to be exactly like his brave hero of a dad. Oh I laugh, i cried and was even terrified in the last 9 minutes of the film but was a thrill to have all those feelings in one film such as this. I give this 5 out 5 stars and not only that as of this day from the first 44 Disney films this ranks as my #2 favorite next to OLD YELLER. Simply a Fantastic story and film. My Hat is Off...

One of my favorite Disney Couples. They looked so beautiful together. I may have to make a list one day of my Top 10 Favorite Disney Couples and this sure ranks in there as one of them.

Darby O'Gill and The Little People (1959)

Happy St. Patrick's Day and Just watched this movie. Not one of my favorite disney movies but it is very likable that I give Disney Credit for that. A very touching and satisfying ending for sure. Love the little leperachans. It was just a little slow for me and didn't expect to hear and young Sean Connery to sing irish music. Well done Lad. Gave it 4 out 5 stars.

 

Shaggy Dog (1959)

I loved this movie very much and the chemisry betwween Fred MacMurray, Tommy Kirk and Kevin Cororan is really awsome. I loved the fact that Annette Funicello (One of my Earliest Disney Crush) was in the movie. Very likeable movie and first disney movie to be a comedy movie. Anyone who loves Dogs will LOVE this movie for sure. I give this 4.5 out 5 stars.

 

Sleeping Beauty (1959)

Here is the 40th Disney Straight Disney Movie. I must say, slightly disapointed in this movie. It is a beautiful story and the music is really really good. I Just don't like why they have to have drunk scenes. These films are meant for family and the bible clearly states DO NOT GET DRUNK and I just don't care to watch that in a family movie. Anyhow, it is great story. Meleficent surely is a scary character and but saying words that Bible does not like people to say like "FOOLS" again I don't think kids should be hearing those kinds of words. However, she is most evil creature of Disney Villians. I give this movie 4 stars out of 5.

Tonka (1958)

I must emphasize, I Hate WAR. No matter what kind of war it is, I just hate watching it. Makes my heart very sad because I am someone that looks at this way, We all come from the same person but yet are all different. Now with that being said, Tonka truly was a really really good movie. One smart horse I must say. I really think this would be a little rough for youngsters under the age of 8ish or so but it is HISTORY and stuff like this really did happen believe it or not. It really is worth seeing.











 Two characters I disliked very much, GENERAL CUSTERED and YELLOW-BULL. They should have just fought each other.

These were the two best characters TONKA and WHITE-BULL.

So what do i give as a rating for this great movie? 4.5 stars is what. Please watch if you have never seen this movie.

Walt Disney's True'-Life Adventure White Wilderness (1958)

Next movie is another Disney Nature Movie. This was very interesting to watch but I must saw not a fan of watching big RATS(Lemon I think they were called) just to be devoured by birds and other animals. I don't like watching other animals eathing and earing apart other animals while alive but hey that is NATURE for you and animals must survive and God made these animals for a reason right? I Love the Polar Bears, Seal and Wolves part of this story. I would not want to watch again, because you must have a relaxed, alerted mind to be able to keep up with the low soft narative voice of whoever is telling the story, cuz the voice could put you to sleep HA. I give this movie 3.5 stars out of 5 stars.

The Light In The Forest (1958)

I so Love this movie. Two main Reasons Why I Love this movie is because of Fess Parker

and James MacArtur who played Johnny Butler/True Son

James and Fess have such great Chemistry in this film which makes it worth watching. It is hard to watch stories about Indians about how White Men took all their land and forced to live like us, however it is a great story. I give this movie 9 out 10 stars.
