Big Red(1962)

Here is another beautiful feature about a dog, one smart dog if stand corrected. How i love the name of film because it suits the main character wonderfully. The dog is so very much red and I would love to own a dog like him. Just goes to show you, never underestamate a love between a child and a dog. Very good story line, the acting could have been better, but after all it's a family film. I give this film 4.5 stars.

Bon Voyage(1962)

This feature is a very fun family type film. Lot of the same kids from previous disney films are in this feature which makes more enjoyable to watch. Great message of showing you just important being faithful and true to your spouse is. I got that message very loud and clear. I sure do LOVE the kids from this movie. I give this movie 4.5 Stars.

I think this is one of the better casting crew. Just love all the actors/actresses.

Moon Pilot(1962)

This is a fun and interesting movie. Since I am not a huge NASA fan, it was slightly boring but it did get interesting.
If you are huge NASA or Spaceship fan, you will indeed love this film and if you like Extra Terrestrials, then this is your film.

Some of the acting was kinda biazarrish, kinda weird comedy.  The story was kinda-neat-o.  I so did love the ending of the film.  Sometimes kinda wish that would happen to me HA.  I give this film 4.5 Stars.

Babes In Toyland(1961)

This is one of the first DISNEY features i was kinda disappointed in. I mean Annette Funicello was in this film and the whole movie to me was kinda of a disaster. Silly and funny is one thing, but they over-silly and a fastly-done movie is another thing. I expected this film to be much better.

Only thing that really made my rating of this movie higher than it should be was the great acting of ED WYNN as the toymaster. Drew Barrymore's version of Babes in Toyland is so much better than this. I give this movie 3.5 stars.

Greyfriars Bobby(1961)

If you are true doggy lover, there is no doubt you will surly love this disney feature. Oh the heart of this film is magnificent and inspiring and did I say it is based on a true story?

This is one of the films the whole family should be watching.  This film is so very touching and so much heart and love to the story.  It is such a great great film.  To tell you how much I LOVE this film, it is now my 2nd favorite disney film from 1937-1961.    5 Stars All The Way

Nikki, Wild Dog Of The North(1961)

You can say this is a Disney NATURE/ADVENTURE Film.  Nikki is one beautiful wolf dog.  I would also like to express, STRONG, CURIOUS and LOYAL.  Sad to see her separated from his man but she goes on a wild-life adventure making friend with a baby bear cub.

There was one scene I didn't like when he got captured only to be use a DOG FIGHTER.  I hate those Dog fights, turning good nature dogs into hate-ful fighting dogs.  It did have a very happy ending.    I would have been very angry if this movie had ended a different way.   4.5 stars i gave this feature.

The Parent Trap(1961)

Anything with Maureen O'Hara, ina  movie i know for sure I will LOVE. I think she is one of the most beautiful and gifted actresses ever. Her red hair is so amazing and she is a gifted singer as well. She was so perfect as the mother for this feature.

I love the story how the girls met and decided to change places so one could meet dad/mom. The plan to get them to fall in love again was so great. The song that Haley Mills performs as a duet is one of my favorite disney songs. Well done, Haley Mills. I think you did a much better job in this film than Pollyanna, although I so LOVE the latter film. I give this film 5 stars all the way.

The Absent-Minded Professor(1961)

This feature started out so slow for me. I think maybe because SCIENCE Is one of the poorest subjects for me. I don't know, I just don't find it very interesting in watching how things work and discoveries and such.

It did get quite interesting when the professor made his discovery and all the excitement that went along with his invention.  Glad things turned out well for him at the end of the film.  I give this 4 stars.

One Hundred and One Dalmatians(1961)

The first movie to watch from 1961 is such a great family disney film to watch.  Who does not enjoy a film about watching dogs, especially when they are cute dalmatians.

I would not want sell the cute little pups to evil crazy women either but the story was great when the pups are kidnapped and The Pongos go and search for their missing pups.  Talk about bravery, courage and determination. Great film over all and I give this 5 stars.

Swiss Family Robinson(1960)

First two words that comes to mind is GREAT CASTING!  What a great family movie that Disney made for us.  Just to shows you, when tragedy affects a whole family,  unity is the key to the solution.

Everything about this film is worth watching and I recommend those with young children to view this feature.  James McArthur is one of favorite actors and I have enjoyed watching him in at least 4 Disney Films now.  Watching how they defeated the Pirates, with slight help, is amazing.  Great action.  I give this 5 stars all the way.

Ten Who Dared(1960)

This is one of those movies that is more like learning about our past history. This is the story of an expedition, exploring a whole new territory of our world.

This movie is based on a journey by Major John Wesley Powell. He took 9 other men with him on 4 boats to explore things. He was out to find fossils but his other men were out to look for gold.

Struggles and lack of trust separated the 10 men as we find out that what they had been exploring was the FUTURE LANDMARK of our Nation, THE GRAND CANYON. I give this movie 4 stars.

Jungle Cat(1960)

The First Nature Film of the 1960s, this Disney Film is pretty interesting to watch. You feel kinda sad for some of those animals with the least advantage, but it is part of nature.

I never realized there was so many different types of Cats in the world.  It was interesting to watch how each one survives and how they go for the kill of their prey.

My favorite part of this film is the SLOTH that got away from the Jaguar Cat with the brain skills, not the physical skill.  I was chuckling at that moment.

If you don't like seeing animals killing, yet eating other animals, this is not your movie.  As the these movies say, NATURE MOVIES, it's how these animals survive.   I give this 4.5 stars.

The Sign Of Zorro(1960)

The First Black And White Disney Movie of the 1960s.  This film started out real slow for me.  I do like the action of the film very much.  Although the dialog of the film is to over-written.  To me they wanted to the speed the story and mostly do action, but in a way i didn't really care because the action part of the film is so much better than the dialog of the film.

The over-weight commander-in-chief made this film very funny and amusing. I indeed liked the fellow because of his clumsy-ness and kind-hearted attitude.  The villian is such an arrogant guy who always forces his way to get what he wants.  I give this movie 4 stars.

Pollyanna(1960)

It's amazing how one little person can change a whole town by just being as what FRED ROGERS would say, "BY Just Being YOU". A little girl being brought to her aunt's home after the passing of her parents, gives a gift to a community with Love, Kindness and Gladness.

Haley Mills is such a perfect actress for this role and I am so glad she fulled this part of Pollyanna.  I can not picture anyone but her to be her.  The Glad Game is such a very important part of this movie, which is truly a great way to teach kids to stop looking at the negative part of the world but look for the GLADNESS of this world.

My heart truly loves this movie and teaches us that doing Charity work is not to brag about, but it's the heart that counts, and teaching us just because we could be miserable and unhappy, be glad for what you have.   I SO LOVE THIS MOVIE. 5 STARS ALL THE WAY.

KIdnapped(1960)

A film made in Scotland and London Disney Studios, it started out really slow.  A lad, during the Red-Coat years,  father has just passed and was sent to live with his uncle.  He finds out that his Uncle despises him and has him get kidnapped.  He fights his way to get himself back to his uncle.   On his fight back, he becomes friends with a Red-Coat traitor. I give this movie 3.5 stars.  Not one of my favorite disney movie but loved the leading actor.

Toby Tyler (1960)

My First Film to watch of the 1960's Disney era. This is such a very friendly family movie film. It started out real slow but you will get a  chuckle and a smile.  That's  how can you not love watching this film. For those who LOVE BONANZA HOSS, well this Ben character reminded of me him and I  grew to LOVE Ben very much.   A very important lesson, always be on your guard about who you work for and always check about your wages. The most important lesson, learn about LOVE. That Toby boy did he ever have that. I give this movie 4.5 stars out 5. \ Here Is The Movie Trailer
